The Regional forum of volunteers in Temirtau united those who strive to make the world a better place. The most active volunteers received grants from the Akim of the region to support the best volunteer projects, certificates and letters of thanks. In total, 73 volunteerorganizations and groups work in the Karaganda region, the Akimat of the Karaganda region reports.

- Volunteers are unique people who care about the fate of their country. The volunteer movement in our regionis becoming a big social force with its own direction. There are 73 volunteer organizations and groups of 4,500 residents of Bulis Island in the region, the vast majorityof which are mostly young people. They carried out 502 measures to provide assistance to about 40 thousand large and low-income families, single elderly people, disabled people and other particularly needy categories of the population. There is a regional front office of volunteers, which deals with general coordination and provides resource assistance to volunteer organizations. Today, the efforts of volunteers allow us to solve many problems in various spheres of public life, " said Deputy Akim of the region Yerlan Kusayyn.

The forum Еwas attended by representatives of the UN program, volunteer organizations of Central Asian countries and the organization of legal entities "National Volunteer Network". They discussed the activities of volunteer organizations, the role of corporate responsibility in supporting civil initiatives, and topics of volunteering in the field of ecology, education, healthcare, and emergency situations.

Grants, certificates and letters of thanks to active volunteers for volunteer projects were also awarded at the forum. The winners of the competition for grants to support volunteer activities were seven volunteer organizations. Among the winners are environmentalists alykan Rakhmetov from Abay district with the ecological project Taza Alem.

- Our project is aimed at sorting secondary raw materials, in our case lids. With the money received from the delivery of recycling materials, we plan to purchase office supplies for socially vulnerable families, as well as families with difficult living conditions. Containers will be installed in Abay schools. In the future, we want to place such containers in the Abaysky district. We plan to use the received funds to purchase containers, tables, posters, etc., " said Taza Alem project coordinator Rahman Rakhmetov.

The event was held in the format of an "interactive cafe", where participants were able to get acquainted with the projects of representatives of international organizations. The forum was initiated by the Department of Youth Policy of the Karaganda region.
